Accounts Required

Accounts are required after a research proposal has been accepted.

If you are a first-time user of the MSCF resources:

Have you submitted a proposal form?
To request access to the MSCF computers, users are required to submit a proposal for research.
Has your proposal been accepted?
The review of proposals for general research can take up to 6 weeks. If you have not heard anything, get in touch with Erich Vorpagel of the Visualization and User Services group.
What should you do after the proposal is accepted?
If accepted, you may then proceed to apply for accounts on each computer listed on your proposal form. Go to Accounts (Getting an Account) for information on network, UNIX workstation and MSCF accounts.

If you are not a first-time user of the MSCF resources

It may not be necessary for you to submit a second proposal in order to get an account on another computer. Get in touch with your Point-of-Contact for further information.

Whether you are a first-time user or already have an account to use one of the MSCF computers, you must request access for every MSCF computer you wish to use. The procedure is described under Accounts.
